Between a self-declared spirit of independence and the continuing need for care and comfort, children incessantly run without brakes and learn, by playing. In Des gestes blancs, Sylvain Bouillet and his 8-year-old son Charlie Bouillet, explore a highly physical and emotional relationship. Together they spin, twirl, jump and balance. They encounter obstacles that need to be overcome and rely on bases of mutual trust. The son follows in his father’s footsteps, and the father imitates the son.
