Lisbon, an open, luminous, and warm city, welcomes Pina Bausch and her company, Tanztheater Wuppertal. They come for a three-week residency, responding to the invitation of the 100 Days Festival: the creation of Ein Neues Stück von Pina Bausch. They arrive with eyes and ears wide open, their veins well tempered, attentively tuned to the signs, the glimmers, the sounds, the scents, and the emotions that the city suggests to them. Then, with special evocations of their own lives, now interwoven by the breeze of Lisbon, there will come that rare moment when all of this, and everything else, under the mysterious baton of Pina Bausch’s genius, will take on a life of its own, a new soul. This will be called: "A New Piece by Pina Bausch." Or something else entirely. And that will be beautiful: Masurca Fogo.
